Grace Removals Group deploys large facilities structure, and due to the nature of their business, they often have multiple buildings co-located.
In one of their Sydney office locations, Grace constructed a new warehouse and office building. As a more financially effective internet connectivity solution than fibre or leased line, Grace Removals Group contracted Wireless Edge Networks to install and configure a point-to-point wireless link solution to connect their new building to one of their existing office blocks.
Grace removals required a wireless link between their old and new building that was currently under construction. Grace required a link to be fully functioning on opening day as it is the buildings only network connection.
Wireless Edge Networks worked with Grace Removals Group IT department to calculate the required wireless link speed, identify the wireless antenna installation locations, and high-light any recommended changes to the network design to use the new wireless link effectively.
As one of the installation locations was on a new building site, technically still considered a construction site, Wireless Edge Networks worked with the building contractor to schedule the installation so as to coordinate with the near-completion / hand-over of the building, as well as organize access to the roof. Wireless Edge Networks provided all the required antenna masts & pole mounts best suited for the roof type, as well as ran the necessary outdoor rated data-cables from the antenna installation location into the facility to the data communications room.
Technical Solution – Ligowave 5-23 Pro
Perfect for ‘across-the-road’ up to 10km deployments, the Ligowave 5-23 Pro provided Grace Removals with 220Mbps of real throughput. Necessary for their handheld scanners in their warehouse, this link also provided a high 65,000 packet-per-second rate. The included cloud-based management solution (Wireless Network Managed Systems – WNMS) allows IT administrators for Grace Removals to monitor this link in real time and be alerted in the unlikely event of any drops in performance.
